  • Recommended Carrier for Mobillity Scooter with Class I Trailer Hitch
We do have a couple cargo carriers available that are compatible with Class I hitches that might work well to transport your mobility scooter, such as the Reese # 63155. This is a really nice carrier that features inside/usable dimensions of 47 inches long and 20 inches wide. You can compare these dimensions to your scooter to see if it will fit. This is the largest Class I cargo carrier that we have available. I have attached a short video demonstration on this product that you can...

  • Trailer Hitch and Hitch Adapter Recommendation for 2019 Buick Encore Carrying Kuat NV
Yes, you would want to use an anti-rattle for the 1-1/4 inch portion of the adapter. For that the Hitch part # C11257 would work well. It uses a U-bolt to hold the adapter tight to the hitch tube.

  • Solution for 1-1/4 inch Hitch that Needs to Carry Bike Rack for 2 inch Hitch
Hey Barb, one solution is to go with a 1-1/4 inch to 2 inch hitch adapter like the # HTAD but the downside is that these adapters cut the hitch capacity by 50 percent and they do add movement and length to the setup. This is most ideal if the rack isn't used all that much. Ideally you go with a bike rack that fits both hitch sizes like the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider # HR200Z which is a really solid and easy to use option that would work well for you. If you will be using the bike rack...

  • Can an Adapter be Used to Carry a 2 Bike Rack in 1-1/4 Receiver on a Mazda CX-5
I do have a solution for you to carry both of your bikes with your Mazda CX-5 but unfortunately an adapter like part # HTAD isn't the way that I recommend going. Not only does it cut the weight rating of your trailer hitch in half, it will also cause your bike rack to have more movement during travel. Since we don't carry Allen bike racks we don't have an adapter so instead I recommend changing out your bike rack for something like the Yakima HoldUp # Y02445 which fits a 1-1/4" receiver...

  • Availability of a 2 Trailer Hitch for a 2004 Toyota Matrix to Carry a Bike Rack
You are definitely on the right track when it comes to not wanting to use an adapter for your bike rack. The only trailer hitches that are a confirmed fit for your 2004 Toyota Matrix have 1-1/4" receivers but if you let me know what bike rack you have I can check to see if there is an adapter that was made specifically for your bike rack (provided that we carry your bike rack). For your application I recommend installing the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C12221. This trailer hitch requires...

  • Can I Tow My Geo Pro 15TB Travel Trailer With My 2018 Volvo XC60
I can get you setup to tow your travel trailer with your 2018 Volvo XC60. The answer to your first question is no, you cannot use a hitch receiver adapter to tow. I did check your owner's manual and your vehicle is rated to tow up to 3,500 lbs with a brake controller. (3,280 lbs if you will be towing 1,000m or higher, above sea level.) As a result, you should not have any problems towing the Geo Pro 15TB travel trailer. In order to tow your travel trailer you will need a hitch and a ball...

  • 2008 Toyota Matrix Trailer Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendation
Only the larger vehicles like trucks and SUVs will have the higher capacity 2 inch hitch available. The 2008 Toyota Matrix is a lighter duty vehicle so it only has 1-1/4 inch hitches available for it like the # 24812 which is a custom fit. You'd need to also go with a bike rack designed for this hitch size. The most popular bike rack we carry that has been confirmed to fit this vehicle is the Thule Camber 2 part # TH9058. We asked our demo and install guys to name their favorite, most...

  • Recommended Hitch Extender for Class I 1-1/4 Inch Hitch and 2 Inch Bike Rack
The Draw-Tite # 24857 for your 2008 BMW is only rated for Class I. This means the only options to have your bike rack fit are the # HTAD or the # HT5R that are compatible with Class I hitches. You will limit the 200 lb tongue weight capacity of your hitch to 100 lbs because the adapter will reduce the hitch's tongue weight by 50%. That new 100 lb capacity will need to include the weight of your bike carrier as well as the loaded bikes. I also recommend using a hitch lock like # e98880...

  • Is It Possible To Carry The FHG49ZR Cargo Carrier With A 1-1/4" HItch?
Hello Todd. We do sell hitch adapter such as part # HTAD which would allow you to carry the 22x60 Flint Hill Goods Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches # FHG49ZR with a 1-1/4" hitch. When using this kind of adapter/extension it is important to note that the tongue weight capacity of your hitch will be reduced by 50%. So, if your 1-1/4" hitch is rated for 200 lbs of tongue weight, you will be limited to carrying only 100 lbs. When you factor in the weight of the adapter itself (10 lbs) plus the...

  • Recommended Cargo Carrier For 2015 Ford Mustang With 1-1/4 Inch Trailer Hitch
To be able to use the Curt Cargo Carrier, part # C18151 on your 2015 Mustang you will need an adapter because the only trailer hitches available for your vehicle is a Class l trailer hitch with a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening. You would need an adapter like part # HTAD to be able to carry the 2-inch cargo carrier. Keep in mind that using any adapter in the hitch reduces the weight capacity of the hitch by 50 percent. The # C18151 basket weight is about 55-lbs. So this would not leave...

  • Does Using Hitch Size Adapter Negate Use of Hitch Lock
Hey Amy, when you use a hitch adapter part # HTAD you have to use an additional hitch lock. So on the 1-1/4 inch size you'd want the part # e98879 and then on the 2 inch size you could use # e98882.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch and Cargo Carrier for 2015 Lincoln MKZ
For your 2015 Lincoln MKZ, I recommend the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24897. Unlike the Curt model that is also confirmed to fit your vehicle, the installation of this hitch will allow you to trim and reinstall the underbody panel/fascia for accommodation with the hitch receiver and crosstube. On the Curt model, this panel is completely removed and cannot be reinstalled. This Class I hitch will use existing holes in your Lincoln's frame for a no-drill installation....

  • Can a 1-1/4 - 2 Adapter be Used to Safely Haul a Cargo Carrier with a 2015 Toyota Corolla
The concept of a hitch adapter like the Brophy # HTAD is a good idea in theory but the problem with using one of those with a 1-1/4" hitch, like part # C11265 or # 24913 for your 2015 Toyota Corolla, is that it will reduce the weight capacity of your trailer hitch by 50%. Since those trailer hitches have a tongue weight rating of 200 lbs this means that the tongue weight will be reduced to 100 lbs. If you were to use all of this for the 24x59 Curt Cargo Carrier # C18151 you would only...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for 2013 Volvo S60
For your 2013 Volvo S60 I actually recommend just going with the Draw-Tite Class III 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75916. This 2 inch hitch essentially has an identical mounting bracket design to the Curt 1-1/4" Hitch # C12066 you referenced, so it's not going to stick out any further. In fact based on installations we have performed with both hitches the Draw-Tite will likely be a bit more recessed behind the bumper than the smaller Curt model. A 2" receiver is going to open up the door...

  • Availability of 1-1/4 inch to 2 inch Hitch Adapter that Fits 2014 Nissan Juke
We have a Class I compatible 1-1/4 inch to 2 inch hitch adapter that fits the hitch you have installed on your 2014 Nissan Juke with the part # HTAD. You should note that using a hitch adapter does cut the capacity of the hitch you install it in by 50 percent.

  • Recommended Way To Transport a Lawn Mower with a 2001 Toyota Camry
We have cargo carriers that work with trailer hitch receivers from Class I to Class IV. However, your options will diminish with the lower your hitch is rated. The highest rated hitch we have for your 2001 Toyota Camry is a Class II like the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 36336 which has a 1-1/4" receiver tube opening. The best cargo carrier we have for your vehicle and mower is the Rola Cargo Carrier part # 59507. The Rola Cargo Carrier is is rated for use with Class II receivers...

  • Trailer Hitch for a 2000 Volkswagen Passat Wagon With 4-Motion
Yes, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11076 is a confirmed fit for your 2000 Volkswagen Passat Wagon with 4Motion so long as you do not have the 4.0L W8 engine. If you do have the 4.0L W8 engine then we would not have a trailer hitch for this vehicle and you would need to reach out to your local dealer. I have attached an install photo and video for you on a similar Volkswagen Passat Wagon with 4Motion.

  • Can Kuat NV Bike Rack be Used with 2019 Honda Accord
Kuat actually makes a version of their Kuat NV 2.0 that fits Class I 1-1/4 inch hitches like the hitches that fit your 2019 Honda Accord such as the Curt # C11525. For that you'd just need the # NV12B and you'd be set! The reason Class III hitches aren't available for your vehicle is that Class III hitches are normally only used on higher capacity vehicles like trucks and SUVs. I attached a review video for the Kuat for you to check out as well.

  • Recommended Hitch Adapter For 2016 Toyota Prius V With Class l Trailer Hitch To Carry Bike Rack
We do not have a trailer hitch designed to fit your 2016 Prius. As manufacturers design and make them available, we do add them to our website so our customers can order them. The tire chains I recommend for your 2016 Prius are the Glacier V-Trac Cable Snow Tire Chains, part # PW1030. These are made of low-carbon steel and are designed with a low profile that means a smoother ride. These also come with tensioning rings that help secure the chains on the vehicle. • Trailer Hitch Receiver and Wiring Required to Carry a 64LB E-Bike With a 2005 Pontiac Vibe.
It is possible to use a bike rack like the Thule EasyFold XT # TH903202 as it is rated to carry bikes up to 65lbs and will work with a class I or class II receiver on your 2005 Pontiac Vibe. The rack itself will weigh 45lbs giving you 109lbs total for the bike and carrier weight. This would allow for you to carry a second bike if needed. The EasyFold also includes an aluminum ramp to assist with loading and unloading the bike. If you use the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C12234 on your...

Part # P315 probably would not work with your hitch. My information shows that the only available hitches for your 2008 Kia Optima are Class I hitches and P139 is for Class II only. We do have another adapter that will work for a Class I hitch. It is part # HTAD and it will allow your Class I 1-1/4 hitch to accept 2 inch accessories. • Comparing Trailer Hitch Options for Carrying 2 Bike Rack on a 2006 Toyota Prius
Betweeen the Curt # C11468 and Draw-Tite # 24808 for your 2006 Toyota Prius, I recommend the Curt simply because we have found that they tend to have better welds and a thicker powder coat than other options on the market. All of this translates into a more durable hitch that you can rely on. While you can use an adapter like the Brophy # HTAD to carry a bike rack with a 2" shank, we typically advise against this for a few reasons. First of all it's more connection points so there are...
